Easter is just around the corner, and I can already feel the excitement in the air! I popped into my local Kmart the other day and found the cutest Easter-themed cookie cutters. The stores are filled with all things Easter—pastel decorations, fun basket stuffers, and the sweetest little outfits. It’s all so festive!
I want my son to feel like Easter is just as special as Christmas—the joy, the anticipation, the little traditions that make it magical. So, we’re kicking things off with some Easter crafts and fun snack ideas. After all, Easter is about Jesus’ resurrection, and that’s just as important as celebrating His birth.
First up, a simple and adorable treat—Easter puff pastry!

This is such an easy and fun little treat to make, and my son was absolutely thrilled! He was so excited, cutting out shapes, and waiting for them to puff up in the oven. We truly had the best time making these together.
All you need is some puff pastry, an egg, and a happy heart. That’s it! It’s the perfect little bonding activity—simple enough for kids to help, but special enough to create memories. And more than just a snack, it’s a way to teach them the joy of cooking, the magic of creating something with their own hands, and the beauty of spending time together.
1. Preheat your oven to 200°C.
2. Grab a pack of premade puff pastry from the supermarket—easy and hassle-free!

3. Pick out some cute cookie cutters. The more fun, the better!

4. Cut out shapes from the puff pastry. This is the perfect step to get the kids involved—my son had a blast doing this!

5. Make a simple egg wash by beating an egg.

5. Brush the cut pastry with the egg wash. Another fun task for little hands to help with! Here you will see that he added a stem on the flowers. How cute!

7. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until they’re golden brown and beautifully puffed up.

8. Enjoy! You can have them plain or with your favorite spreads—apricot jam, strawberry jam, or even Nutella. My son loved his both ways!
